Experience in Library Consultation

The newly constructed DVK Central Library is fully computerized and has the most modern infrastructure. The functions of this library are spread over a multi-storey building with 45000 square feet of space. He did the entire Library Space Designing. DVK Central Library is considered a good model, especially for its concepts, functions, features, and interior. Many people visit here to make a study and get a consultation regarding the above areas in the time of their planning and execution of their library.

• Indian Express National Daily published on 18-10-2023 city edition of Kerala, a feature (full page) based on the library planning programs conducted by Fr. John Neelankavil CMI under the title “The FATHER of Libraries”.
• Sargakshetra FM Radio 89.6 interviewed Fr. John Neelankavil CMI regarding the relevance of modern libraries and telecasted it on 16-12-2023.
• Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, honoured Fr. John Neelankavil CMI as the Chief Architect for the Renovated University Library on April 5, 2024. The honourable Vice-Chancellor honoured him by adorning him with a shawl (ponnada) along with a memento and cash prize in a gathering organized by the University Library for its academic audit.

Library Training cum Apprenticeship Programme

He has given One Year Training to 10 Library and Information Science Students for 3 consecutive years since 2005. Before and after this one-year training programme, many institutions trained their librarians on on-request at DVK Central Library under his guidance.

With the capacity librarianship and the help of library team, we fostered hundreds of programmes to keep the Athenaeum more vibrant. 2004 onwards, DVK Central Library is Hosting More Than Two Hundred Multi Media Programmes as a part of the dissemination of knowledge with the partial involvement of the librarian. Pastoral Service & Activities

• He preached a Retreat for Novices to prepare the first profession of CMI Brothers at Chavara Dham, CMI Novitiate at Budini, Bhopal, on 25-30 October 2022.
• He Preached a Retreat for Novices at Arul Illam, Velamthavalam, Kerala - CMI Novitiate of Preshitha Province, Coimbatore, from 31 August 2022 to 07 September 2022.
• He served as Parish Priest at St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara Church, Ejipura, from 2003 to 2006 and as Chaplain at Military Campus Church (MEG), Bangalore, from 2006 to 2008.
